Madam please dont flush signAgain, this is a sign that I spotted a friend flaunting on Facebook and asked to use it here.

This is from a Virgin Trains toilet in the UK. Frankly, this is how signage should be done.

It’s a simple message, and one you see everywhere in the UK – don’t clog up our loos with your paper products.

But it’s done with a deftness and lightness of touch that is lovely.

I find Virgin can be a bit overpowering sometimes, but this is really rather sweet. I know there is something of a backlash against ‘cute’ signage. But I’d have given a rye smile if I’d seen this. And how often can you say that reading a sign in a bathroom?

If only the signs I usually showcase here were as funny intentionally rather than by accident.

For those of you reading on a phone, here’s the text:

Please don’t flush

Nappies, sanitary towels, paper towels, gum, old phones, unpaid bills, junk mail, your ex’s sweater, hopes, dreams or goldfish down this toilet

Thank you Virgin Trains in the UK
