Madam - signage sundays - brgrAnother sign from New York this week.

And another awful pun.

What can I say? I have a weakness for them.

So this is a burger place on the Upper East Side – ie, a very nice neighbourhood in NYC. And this is a fancy fast food place, a burger bar of course, as you can tell from the name.

What drew my eye is there rather fabulous tag line ‘go against the grain’.

Now, I didn’t go in, so I’m not certain, but I like to think that this is somewhere you can have your burger with or without the pun, sorry I mean, bun. So you can have it without the bread, which is very Atkins diet.

But I might be reading too much into it.

I like the graphic of the two hands and the text speak spelling too. It’ll date like crazy and probably doesn’t make too much sense over all. Do they give you grain options? Can you text in your order?

I don’t know.

But I liked the sign. And so here we are in Signage Sunday.

Next week, we’ll be returning to our usual service of confusing signs from India. Stick with what you know after all… and I am often confused. As this post shows, confused all over the world…
